AGsperience: Empowering Individuals to Transform Food Systems

The global food system is at a crossroads. With nearly 735 million people facing chronic hunger in 2022—an increase of 122 million from 2019—the inefficiencies of our current food distribution and production processes are more apparent than ever. These systems, major contributors to climate change, utilize a third of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions and 70% of its freshwater.

Understanding Sustainability in Food Systems A truly sustainable food system must be economically viable, socially beneficial, and environmentally friendly. However, our current trajectory is unsustainable, driven by overconsumption, malnutrition, and poor agricultural practices, exacerbating hunger and environmental degradation.

Global Challenges and the Need for Action Population growth, urbanization, and climate change continue to strain our food resources. The UN’s goal of achieving Zero Hunger by 2030 is becoming increasingly elusive, with projections suggesting 660 million people will still face hunger if current trends continue. Rising food prices, exacerbated by conflicts and economic downturns, threaten to reverse gains made in global food security post-Covid.

Introducing AGsperience: A Local Solution to a Global Problem AGsperience offers a grassroots approach to these global challenges. By empowering individuals to learn and implement sustainable farming techniques through hands-on workshops and experiences, AGsperience aims to cultivate a deeper understanding of sustainable agriculture practices. Participants learn how to grow their own food and participate in a larger movement toward environmental sustainability and food security.

AGsperience Workshops: Learning by Doing Through AGsperience, participants engage in a variety of activities:

  • Urban and Vertical Gardening: Maximize space and efficiency in urban environments.
  • Composting and Water Conservation: Reduce waste and preserve essential resources.
  • Farm-to-Table Cooking: Understand and implement sustainable food consumption.

Each workshop is designed to provide practical skills that can be directly applied, whether in a backyard or a community garden, contributing to local food solutions and reducing reliance on unsustainable agricultural practices.

Be Part of the Solution AGsperience invites you to join a community committed to reshaping the future of our food systems. Learn more about how you can make a difference and help pave the way for a sustainable future by subscribing to our newsletter.
